عناية السيد / نحن الموقعين على هذه المذكرة من مثقفين وأكاديميين وصحفيين مصريين ومواطنين نسجل احتجاجنا على ترشيح السيد فاروق حسني وزير الثقافة المصري لرئاسة منظمة الأمم المتحدة للعلوم والثقافة والتربية "اليونسكو" ونؤكد على أنه شخصية غير جديرة بهذا المنصب الدولي الحساس نظرا لتورطه قبل سنوات في نشاطات أمنية بوليسية لمطاردة الطلاب والمبتعثين المصريين في العاصمة الفرنسية باريس في 1972 عندما أرسل كملحق ثقافي بالسفارة المصرية آنذاك ، حيث اعترف بأنه كان يمارس نشاطات تجسسية على الطلاب المعارضين للرئيس المصري السابق أنور السادات ويكتب عنهم تقارير أمنية لصالح أجهزة المخابرات مما يعرض رحلتهم العلمية وحياتهم الشخصية للخطر ، وتباهى فاروق حسني بذلك علنا في الصحف المصرية واعتبر أنه بذلك مارس دورا وطنيا ، ولكنه لم يعترف بذلك إلا بعد أن كشف الحقيقة الدكتور يحيى الجمل الوزير السابق وأستاذ القانون الدولي والمستشار الثقافي للسفارة المصرية في باريس سابقا في مذكراته بعنوان "قصة حياة عادية" ، وبعدها ذهب فاروق حسني إلى مجلة المصور المصرية التي نشرت المذكرات واعترف في حوار مطول بالواقعة . أيها السادة ، لسنا في حاجة إلى التأكيد بأن شخصية بمثل هذا التاريخ البغيض هي غير جديرة بمنصب مثل هذا يتطلب سجلا أخلاقيا وإنسانيا منحازا للشفافية وحقوق الإنسان وغير متواطئ مع النظم المستبدة ضد معارضيها ، ومن كان غير أمين على الثقافة والتربية مع مواطنيه فهو بالأحرى غير أمين على الثقافة والتربية العالمية . وإذ نسجل احتجاجنا في هذه المذكرة العاجلة على ترشيحه لليونسكو ، فإننا نتمنى للمجتمع الدولي أن يوفق في اختيار شخصية ذات سمعة مضيئة وتاريخ أخلاقي مشرف لقيادة مسيرة اليونسكو في المرحلة المقبلة . وتقبلوا وافر الاحترام

Nous,soussignés, intellectuels,chercheurs,professeurs et journalistes egyptiens, signalons notre opposition à la candidature de MR. Farouk Hosni pour la présidence de l’UNESCO.Nous déclarons qu’il n`est pas digne de ce poste à cause de sa coopération avec les services secrets egyptiens lors de sa nomination comme Attaché culturel aupr?s de l’Ambassade d’Egypte à Paris en 1972. Il a lui-même avoué avoir écrit des rapports concernant les étudiants et les boursiers egyptiens en France qui s’opposaient au régime du président Anouar El Sadat, ce qui mettait leur avenir et leur vie en danger. Il s’est publiquement vanté, sur les pages des journaux d’avoir accompli un devoir « patriotique».Cependant,cet aveu a succédé la publication du docteur Yehia El Gamal,ministre,professeur en Droit International et Conseiller culturel, de ses Mémoires : « Histoire d’une vie ordinaire ».Ouvrage dans lequel il a révélé toute la vérité de Farouk Hosni.Ce dernier s’est alors rendu aux locaux de la revue Al-mossawar qui avait publié les Mémoires pour justifier ses actes, donnant comme prétexte son dévouement pour la patrie! Ainsi,une personne ayant ce passé ignoble est indigne de ce poste qui requiert certaines qualités humaines et morales. Une personne ayant pour objectif la défense des libertés individuelles et les droits de l’homme et qui ne sert pas d’outil aux mains d’un régime dictatural pour écraser ses opposants. Nous espérons enfin voir à la tête de cet organisme une personne capable , ayant un passé honorable,digne de ce poste délicat et important. Mohamed Youssef Ads : ancien expert aux Nations Unies

We, the signatories of this memorandum, intellectuals, academics, journalists and Egyptian citizens, protest against the nomination of the Minister of Culture, Mr. Farouk Hosni, for secretary-general of the United Nations Education, Science, and Culture Organization (UNESCO). We stress that he is not worthy of this sensitive international position because of his involvement and participation, few decades ago, in repressive security practices against Egyptian students in Paris during his mission as the cultural attaché in the Egyptian embassy there in 1972 and later years. He had previously admitted that he exercised espionage activities against Egyptian students opposed to the former Egyptian president Anwar el-Sadat, and wrote surveillance reports on their activities in favor of the Egyptian security apparatus which, in turn, exposed the students’ lives and academic career to grave threats. Mr. Hosni has boasted and misrepresented, in public, these acts as a patriotic service; nevertheless, he admitted that only after it was revealed by Dr. Yahya el-Gamal, ex-minister, professor of International Law, and former cultural attaché in Paris, in his diaries titled “Ordinary Life Story.” It was then when Mr. Hosni went to the weekly magazine El Mosawwar , that published el-Gamal’s diaries, and admitted in a lengthy interview his spying and reporting practices. It is needless to emphasize that this character with such dreadful history is not fit for such great position that requires high levels of morality and integrity, as well as unrelenting support for human dignity and ethical transparency. This position should, in no way, be occupied by an accomplice of despotic dictators’ persecution against their opposition. For those who can never be trusted with their own nation’s interest, freedom and culture shall never be trusted with the World’s education and culture. As we hereby assert our urgent opposition and protest against the nomination of Mr. Farouk Hosni for the UNESCO secretary-general, we hope that the international community shall be successful in electing a candidate of high integrity, true morality, and great reputation so as to lead the UNESCO in the coming era. قد يكون هذا سببا وجيها للموقعين , ولكن هناك أيضا أسباب أخرى تجعلنا لا نتعاطف مع هذا الرجل الذي دأب على الإستهزاء بالقيم الإسلامية وبالثقافة العربية الإسلامية
